TheHVACControls Technician IIposition for Building Automation Systems (BAS) is critical to our success in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service as it relates to the installation, programming, and service of commercial digital control systems while maintaining quality and profitability. The position will be responsible for providing technician support for BAS, maintenance agreements, system upgrades, and controls related service requests.

Location:Maple Grove, MN

What you will do:

  • Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
  • Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
  • Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
  • Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
  • Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
  • Provide training and follow-ups for Customers and operations personnel
  • Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy
  • Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs with or without an accommodation.
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry.
  • Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
  • Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals.
  • Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Ability to understand written sequences of operation.
  • Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
  • Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
  • Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL.
  • Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player.
  • Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
  • Current first aid / CPR card.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $31.60 - $50.37 in MN. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
