Job description

Barge Design Solutions is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Aviation Planner to support our growing aviation practice, reporting to our Nashville office. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping airport and aviation system planning efforts across the region, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in aviation planning, airport master planning, and FAA coordination, along with a passion for enhancing transportation infrastructure. You will contribute to a variety of projects including airport layout plans (ALPs), master plans, environmental documentation, and strategic planning initiatives.

Responsibilities 

  • Performs airport planning activities as part of a larger planning team
  • Works collaboratively with engineering teams to support design projects
  • Participates in the production of high-quality exhibits and documents to communicate the results of the planning study elements
  • Leads planning projects and working closely with our clients; ability to operate with autonomy and ownership over assigned work
  • Contributes significantly to the overall success of Barge Design Solutions, Barge's Aviation team and the team's projects
  • Collects, analyses and disseminates data to support airport planning projects
  • Supports environmental permitting requirements and site selection studies in accordance with FAA Advisory Circulars and Orders
  • Performs obstruction analysis, land use studies, and facility requirements analysis to support airfield planning
  • Conducts site visits and field inspections
  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings,documenting decisions
