We're looking for a talented Bartender to join the crew at Mortar & Pestle, our craft cocktail bar inside Curry Up Now San Mateo. If you've got the speed, the style, and the spirit to deliver top-tier drinks with serious hospitality-we want to meet you.
You'll crush this role if you:
  • Know your way around a jigger, shaker, and muddler
  • Can batch with precision and pour with flair
  • Are fluent in classic cocktails and curious about modern mixology
  • Can deliver warm, confident hospitality in a high-energy environment
  • Can work Sundays (non-negotiable-we need weekend warriors)

What you'll be doing:
  • Mixing cocktails with consistency and creativity
  • Providing stellar guest service at the bar and restaurant tables
  • Supporting food and bar operations (including cleaning and restocking)
  • Using the POS system efficiently

Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 1 year Bartending experience in a restaurant or bar
  • Demonstrated success in service excellence, customer service, beverage/food service hospitality
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EEOC regulations, restaurant/food safety procedures
  • Point of Sale (POS) knowledge/skills preferred
  • Ability to successfully perform all job duties of the Bartender role
  • Food Safety/Food Handler certification required
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with guests, staff, and management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in the English language
  • Possesses basic math skill (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Places a value on diversity, community, and shows respect for others
  • Proven ability to problem solve and handle high stress situations
