Rendezvous is a locally loved café, restaurant, and wine bar serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, small plates, signature cocktails, and curated wine selections. We’re looking for an experienced and hospitality-driven Bar Manager to oversee all bar operations and help elevate the beverage experience for our guests.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a bar professional who understands guest service, beverage consistency, team training, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing bar staff, crafting and maintaining drink menus, ensuring consistent beverage quality, managing inventory, and contributing to a positive guest experience in both the café and wine bar environment. You’ll work closely with the front-of-house team and kitchen leadership to deliver smooth, coordinated service across all dayparts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and supervise bartenders and bar support staff

  • Manage day-to-day bar operations, ensuring consistent, high-quality cocktails, wine service, coffee drinks, and specialty beverages

  • Oversee bar prep, batching, and recipe execution to maintain consistency across all shifts

  • Create or contribute to seasonal cocktail menus and recommend wine/beer selections

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels; manage ordering, vendor relationships, and product rotation

  • Ensure proper cash handling, POS transactions, and nightly bar reporting

  • Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the entire bar area

  • Address guest inquiries and provide knowledgeable recommendations on drinks, wine pairings, and menu items

  • Collaborate with FOH and BOH leadership to maintain smooth service flow

  • Enforce responsible alcohol service practices and all state/local regulations

  • Support scheduling, staff development, performance evaluations, and hiring when needed

Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of bar management or lead bartender experience in a restaurant, café, bar, or wine-focused concept

  • Strong cocktail-making skills and familiarity with wine, craft beer, and spirits

  • Experience managing inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships

  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities

  • Strong understanding of beverage costing, recipe development, and workflow efficiency

  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in fast-paced service periods

  • Dependable, organized, and committed to delivering consistent guest service

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs

  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and peak business days
