Senior Security Service Technician

Shel-Bar is a Canadian and USA company specializing in Integration of Security, Lifesafety and Information Systems. We have an out of the box approach to our customers needs for design, installation, and integration security needs. We are a progressive and fast-growing electrical/security service company that takes great pride in providing our clients with a professional trade experience. Shel-Bar focuses on medium to large scale access control and video management systems with our clients needs at the forefront.

We are looking for a motivated, attentive and hardworking Network Specialist with securityaccess control, video management and audio visual experience. The ideal individual will have at least 5 years of experience in installing emergency communications and security systems and has a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server and Networking and switches environments. Genetec and Axis certification or knowledge is an asset.

Requirements:

  • Perform service and new installation commissioning activities on access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems.
  • Advanced capabilities for troubleshooting, audio system and video set up
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous, security Access Control systems experience required
  • Genetec Certification is preferred
  • Proficient with SQL and Windows OS
  • Diploma in Electronics preferred

Position Description:

  • Programming of servers in Windows environments (SQL, Microsoft Server, Management Studio, Server Manager)
  • Lead various projects to completion under the Project Manager

· Installation and service of IP based and analog CCTV (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon) 2-year Associate degree in a technical field involving electronics or computers preferred

· Build equipment system racks, pull cable, and prepare equipment for installation

· Installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors / videowalls and related sub-mounts.

· Assists with testing of system components to assure system completeness and convention

· Demonstrate working knowledge of electricity and electronics

· Demonstrate aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs

· Working knowledge of IT network systems

· Program & test a variety of non-routine security systems and equipment.

· Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Write a variety of non-routine programs for systems

  • Able to provide excellent customer service and maintain an approachable and professional demeanor while on the job
