Description

 In this role, you'll serve as a functional Banner expert, helping Collegis Education's partner institutions streamline business processes, support day-to-day operations, and make better use of the Banner Information System.


This role exists to support functional users of our educational partners' administrative software by providing Banner expertise, resolving system needs, partnering with university departments, and helping drive improved processes, compliance, reporting, and system functionality.


What You'll Do:

  • Provide functional leadership and technical expertise to support all day-to-day operations and new functionality for Banner
  • Provide excellent customer service with the ability to research, resolve and respond to partner inquiries accurately and timely
  • Take primary ownership of Banner support and escalate as necessary and where needed.
  • Works collaboratively with functional units to establish production schedules, resolve technology issues, and assist with report generation
  • Assists functional departments to comply with regulatory requirements, rules, and procedures for client information systems
  • Assists in the development of quality control and test plans / test cases
  • Analyzes existing processes and procedures in the functional user departments, identifies problems and areas for improvement, and provides solutions and enhancements
  • Assists with creation of appropriate workflow processes
  • Maintains current knowledge of federal & state regulatory changes, reporting requirements, and other pertinent information related to Banner and other related systems
  • Making recommendations to management, as needed to maintain compliance
  • Serves as liaison with other power users and maintain knowledge of application interface specifications with the related systems
  • Monitors systems for updates on releases, filed cases, and documents.
  • Develops and maintain effective system documentation for Banner users
  • Develop a trusted partnership with key client resources and assist in identifying future road map items
  • Drives clients' future state business processes, taking greater advantage of baseline Banner by educating clients' functional leads
  • Represents Collegis as a professional partner with client and adheres to Collegis employee guidelines
  • Identifies and implements non-Banner solutions when necessary
  • Provide functional leadership and technical expertise to support all day to day operations and new functionality for Banner as well as all information technology client needs, further driving their success
  • Take primary ownership of Banner support and escalate as necessary and where needed
  • Assist the primary report writer in gathering requirements and ensuring business validation occurs, works with report writer to bridge the data gap where needed
  • Attends professional development (webinars, workshops, Summit, Banner User Groups) and perform other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to and enforce the appropriate information security policies based on the sensitivity of company data and report any security related issues
  • Reduce risk of theft, fraud, or misuse of information assets by acting as the data steward for the application(s) you administer


What You'll Bring: Experience & Skills

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Banner Functional Analyst
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing, maintaining and supporting a variety of Ellucian Banner modules such as Student, Finance, HR/Payroll, and AR modules
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service with the ability to communicate proactively and effectively with a wide range of audiences
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use critical thinking to solve new problems and challenges as they arise
  • Demonstrated proficiency at translating business requirements into system concepts and supporting requirements documentation
  • Ability to secure and protect college data and property by prudent and reasonable business practices.
  • Experience with document imaging, workflow, and portal systems
  • Experience working with eVisions Argos, Form Fusion, and Intellecheck solution a plus
  • Experience working with UC4 / Applications Manager a plus

Requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (one year of experience may substitute for one year of education)

Work Environment & Schedule:


Collegis employs team members in a variety of locations across the country, supporting a flexible and distributed workforce. Depending on candidate location, this position may be structured as either remote or hybrid. Candidates located within 60 miles of our Oak Brook, IL office or a partner school will be expected to follow a hybrid schedule, working onsite 2-3 days per week to support collaboration and team engagement, while those outside this radius may work fully remotely. Specific expectations based on location will be discussed during the interview process.
