About the Opportunity

Ellucian is currently looking to add a Principal Banner ERP Technical Architect to our team.  As a professional services team member, you will be instrumental in consulting with our customers and delivering value add services that provide the quickest path to institutional success.Higher education customers are transforming to modern campuses while leveraging technology and solutions to enable student success.  In this mission critical role, you will partner with our customers to help enable their business office including transformation to cloud/SAAS solutions and ensure successful adoption of these solutions.Where you will make an impact 

  • Communicates effectively and credibly with technical as well as functional staff, including those responsible for the execution of day-to-day operations through to those at the managerial and executive levels.
  • Serve as the primary contact regarding technical items within a project, liaising with other members of a virtual team where applicable
  • Ability to manage client expectations, ensure completion of engagements within an agreed-upon timeframe, and resolve client issues relating to the implementation of Ellucian's solutions.
  • Consistently exceed expectations and responds promptly and professionally to client requests, seeking guidance as appropriate.
  • Leverages knowledge and prior experience to develop, present, and defend rational conclusions, recommendations and implementation strategies.
  • Anticipates and resolves software problems and solves difficult challenges with only occasional need for assistance from others.
  • Tracks formal questions and answers regarding requirements, business process, and desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate remote technical activities taking place and ensure all responsible parties are properly informed. This includes working with the Ellucian Cloud Services team, remote DBAs, and other technical teams.
  • Communicates effectively internally through written reports, regular meetings and teleconferences, keeping management and coworkers apprised of software and customer issues that impact the successful and smooth deployment of Ellucian solutions.
  • Assist client Infrastructure Team to provide appropriate (and secure) server/application access instructions for all consultants. Maintain this over time as new servers/products are implemented.
  • Facilitate the work of and provide support to the Integration Engineers, Data Migration Leads, and Data Migration consultants
  • Travels to customer sites to deliver services.

 What you will bring

  • 5-7 years relevant database experience and 3-5 years IT technical management experience.
  • Experience with implementing large ERP systems.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner is preferred, including Ethos and Self Service technologies.
  • Experience with Postgres/SQL
  • Strong project management, organizational, and client facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Demonstrated aptitude for logical application of problem-solving techniques. Ability to deconstruct complex technical issues to identify root cause issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective technical writing skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a corporate credit card and a driver's license.  Passport required for travel to international clients where applicable
  • Passion for technology and software is a must
