JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  The Banner Development Team Lead is both a project manager and team leader for the Banner Development Team with responsibilities in the planning, development, and management of systems and team members to fit the ever-changing needs of the UT Health Science Center campus. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) 

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of progressive programming experience, preferably with Ellucian Banner; OR Master's Degree and three (3) years of progressive programming experience, preferably with Ellucian Banner; OR a combination of education and experience to equal nine (9) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to perform technical analysis of current and new systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead projects of any size to completion.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  1. Serves as technical lead for all Banner-related projects.
  2. Assists in all areas of Banner functional support - Financial Aid, Registrar, Admissions, and Bursar.
  3. Evaluates current technical processes to determine areas for improvement, pushing the group toward a culture of continuous improvement.
  4. Leads operational-level task assignment and project management of all Banner-related projects.
  5. Leads testing efforts to ensure consistent, or even automated, test plans.
  6. Evaluates current and new tools to determine if they provide value; reports findings to supervisor to help initiate implementation.
  7. Works with the IT Business Analyst to ensure project progress and project completion.
  8. Performs or schedules seminars, classes, or webinars for the team.
  9. Mentors other developers as needed on new tools or processes.
  10. Researches and analyzes emerging technologies.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
