Job Description

Position Purpose

Responsible for originating, reviewing, and processing business banking documentation and maintenance requests. In this role, the representative delivers high-quality professional service to management, coworkers, and clients, ensuring that all interactions reflect the bankโ€™s commitment to excellence. The position supports Business Banking Officers by assisting with sales and service activities and actively promotes merchant service products to clients. Additional responsibilities include the installation and servicing of remote deposit capture systems, as well as providing assistance to sales officers during annual client reviews. Through these duties, the representative plays a key role in supporting the business banking team and enhancing the overall client experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Assumes responsibility for the effective preparation of all Business Banking documentation and servicing requirements.

  • Prepare, review, and process business banking documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Support Business Banking Officers with sales and service backup, including client portfolio management and annual reviews.
  • Promote and assist with merchant services and remote deposit capture installations.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to clients, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including document preparation, data entry, scheduling, and customer communications.

2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with clients, vendors, and other business professionals.

  • Resolves or appropriately refers to questions, requests, or concerns; answers routine questions and seamlessly directs customers to appropriate bank experts as necessary.
  • Obtains and communicates information as needed to support client and business needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
  • Participates in customer calls with the Business Banking Officer and other team members.
  • Coordinates and schedules appointments for clients and business partners.
  • Assists with contacting prospects, customers, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Actively seeks and refers to new Business Banking and merchant services business.

3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with area staff and management.

  • Coordinates activities and obtains or conveys information as needed to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Assists other administrative staff, Business Banking Officers, and related personnel as needed.
  • Communicates client updates to the Vice President, Business Banking Manager, in a timely manner.

4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned by supervisor:

  • Attends meetings as required.

  • Serves as a representative of D.L. Evans Bank and participates in community activities.

  • Performs related clerical duties as needed.

  • Ensures that the work area and equipment are clean, secure, and well maintained.

  • Maintains and projects the bank's professional reputation.

  • Actively always promotes D.L. Evans Bank by professionally selling and cross-selling bank products and services.

  • Performs drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned.

  • Cross-sells bank services by maintaining a general working knowledge of all bank products.

  • Completes special projects as assigned.

  • Performs related security functions as needed or required.

  • This position has security responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
  • Preferred: Previous experience with cash management products and familiarity with business online banking products, services, and systems.

Requirements for Promotion to Next Level:

  • Basic knowledge of Business Online Banking products, including business accounts, business banking, cash management tools, and merchant services.
  • Ability to assist customers over the phone as needed.
  • Typically requires at least 24 months of experience.

Education/Experience (Preferred):

  • Associateโ€™s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Two to three years of banking experience, with a background in new accounts and knowledge of lending, are considered helpful.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.

  • Strong communication skills.
