About the Role

The Deposit Operations & Branch Support Representative is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced operational duties supporting all Bank branches, departments, and electronic banking services. This position provides operational support across deposit operations, payment processing, electronic banking, treasury management, fraud monitoring, and customer support functions.
 

The Deposit Operations & Branch Support Representative supports employees, officers, and other Bank personnel by performing operational functions accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships. The position requires a broad understanding of Bank operations processes and the ability to provide backup support across multiple operational areas. The Deposit Operations & Branch Support Representative is expected to actively participate in cross-training efforts, identify opportunities for process improvement, and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
 

Essential Duties 

Perform intermediate to advanced duties related to operational functions serviced by the department, including but not limited to:

o ACH Processing, Returns, and Corrections

o Wire Transfer Processing

o Non-Posted Item Review

o NSF and Returned Item Processing

o Chargebacks and Adjustments

o Cash Letter Processing and Research

o Balancing/Reconciliation of Various Bank-Owned Accounts

o Legal Process Handling

o Dormant Accounts

o Escheatment Processing

o End of day operational processing

o Research Requests

Reviews and monitors operational exception reports and system-generated alerts, including but not limited to:

o Positive Pay Exceptions

o OFAC- Related Exceptions

o Other Operational and Risk Monitoring Reports


Respond to internal and external inquiries or refer inquiries to the appropriate department or individual; follow through to ensure timely resolution.
 

Processes, research, and resolve complex operational issues, exception items, and customer service concerns while ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
 

Maintains cross-functional knowledge of Bank Operations processes through ongoing training and development to support departmental flexibility and succession planning.
 

Assists with fraud-related processes and dispute administration, including but not limited to:

o Reg E Disputes

o ACH Disputes

o Check Claims


Performs routine reviews of operational work to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to Bank policies and procedures.
 

Assist with data gathering, reporting, audits, examinations, annual reviews, and other department and Bank projects as assigned.
 

Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and all applicable federal and state banking laws, rules, regulations, and industry requirements.
 

Complete administrative tasks accurately and timely; supports the Bank's goals and values; and represents the Bank in a professional manner. 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in banking, primarily in deposit operations and customer support roles.  Work-related experience should consist of a financial institution clerical and/or branch support background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Intermediate-Advanced experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services.
  • Working knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, NACHA Rules, and other Bank operational regulatory requirements.
  • Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; host computer system (Fusion Phoenix knowledge a plus), word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with general supervision while performing duties.
