The Loan Operations Specialist II is accountable for the execution of all back-office processing activities associated with issued consumer and commercial loans, including preparing and reviewing loan documents and applications and processing and administering the loans.  This position will also periodically complete loan processing for Residential and Buck Land Funding loans.  This position works closely with the bank’s consumer and commercial Bankers in the execution of work activities and improvement initiatives.

  • Prepares, reviews, processes and administers consumer and commercial loans, and, as needed, assists with Residential and Buck Land Funding loan processing activities, along with all related documents, files and disbursements for the various types of loans
  • Follows proper accounting procedures for booking loan transactions
  • Collects and verifies applicant's personal information and financial records for the loan
  • Prepares credit reports and ensures sufficient loan collateral
  • Calculates loan items and charges such as interest and payments
  • Records new loans, processes loan payments, and maintains loan records
  • Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and/or other documents pertaining to the financial transaction records
  • Gathers and prepares loan documents to be passed at the closing of the loan
  • Answers customer inquiries by phone and in person and resolves problems
  • Assists lending officers in activities such as disbursement of funds and extension of new loans
  • Prepares and distributes notices and loan reports
  • Assists with training other staff members as requested
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned and requested
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience/exposure within the banking industry preferred
  • Demonstrates aptitude for mathematical and/or financial transactions
  • Demonstrates ability to execute work under general supervision
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills (customer-oriented)
  • Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multi-task daily job duties
  • Demonstrates ability to address moderately complex job related/technical issues and problems with guidance, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong team collaboration/teamwork skills, with ability to work in diverse teams and build/maintain positive working relationships
  • Demonstrates ability to interact efficiently with Technology and utilize common office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications; willingness to learn new technologies
  • Demonstrates troubleshooting and problems solving skills
