Job description

Are you self-motivated banking professional with a passion for building lasting partnerships? United Bankers' Bank is seeking a Correspondent Banking Officer to serve as a trusted advisor to community banks across Iowa. In this remote, travel-intensive role, you will act as the face of the nation's first bankers' bank, leveraging our "First For Your Success" philosophy to help community banks thrive through innovative products and superior service. If you excel in a negotiating environment and have a proven track record in correspondent sales, we want to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be located in the state of Iowa. This is a remote, work-from-home position that requires self-discipline and self-motivation. This individual will travel extensively, calling on community banks in Iowa.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Travel to meet in-person with prospective customers and solidify relationships with existing customers. Sells all bank products.
  • Files a call report within 5 business days of each call where subject matter and client interest areas are identified. Discusses opportunity areas with appropriate UBB department.
  • Shares knowledge of all UBB products and is comfortable representing them to clients. Maintains excellent relationships with all UBB departments and informs them of service related issues.
  • Performs product comparisons for prospective clients by obtaining statements from their current correspondent banks to generate a detailed pro forma cost analysis. Presents to clients and explains UBB advantage.
  • Signs prospects to UBB products. Represents bank as a whole and all UBB products. Works with assistance of proper UBB departments to solve client issues.
  • Utilizes superior communication skills in a negotiating style sales environment.

* Represents UBB at assigned bankers' association conventions and events.

  • Consistently meets or exceeds annual production goals set by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Finance or related field
  • 5 years correspondent sales / marketing or banking related sales experience
  • Understanding of Lending, Investments, and Operations as related to Banking
  • Ability to travel up to 60% with half of that travel or more being overnight travel
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Windows, MS Office (Excel, Outlook and Word) and Teams
