Role Description The Loan Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Opp, AL. This position supports lenders and customers throughout the loan lifecycle, including preparing and organizing loan documents, assisting with loan applications, and maintaining accurate records. Daily responsibilities include coordinating loan processing activities, gathering required documentation, tracking file status, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The Loan Assistant will communicate with customers and internal teams to provide updates, resolve questions, and support timely loan closings. The role also involves data entry, document review, and assisting with underwriting and quality control tasks as directed by loan officers or ma

nagement.


Qualifications

  • Ability to work with Loan Documents and loan files, including preparation, review, and organization.
  • Knowledge of Loans and basic lending processes, with an understanding of consumer and/or commercial lending preferred.
  • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Underwriting concepts and the ability to assist with collecting and verifying information to support credit decisions.
  • Experience or aptitude in Loan Processing, including data entry, documentation tracking, and workflow coordination.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in recordkeeping, and strong organizational skills.
  • Comfort with banking software, document management systems, and standard office applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Customer service mindset, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or experience in banking, finance, or accounting is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a banking or lending environment preferred but not required.
