Job description

About the role:
CLA Meridian Capital, a premier middle-market investment bank with over three decades of experience advising clients, is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join our growing team in the Seattle, WA office. This role provides transaction execution assistance along with research and analytical support to the Investment Banking team, helping to execute Mergers & Acquisition transactions (predominately sell-side) and other corporate finance engagements. The position also takes on a range of support responsibilities that enable the Investment Banking teams to deliver successfully across all client engagements.
Essential Job Functions:
Sell-Side M&A transaction analysis and documentation: Researches and prepares complex financial models and M&A process documents including pitchbooks, CIMS, and marketing documents. Conducts detailed and rigorous analysis on financial models and valuations. Reviews of deliverables prepared by analysts to ensure accurate data. Compiles data and assists in preparing PowerPoint pitch books for client presentations and related M&A transaction documents. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on M&A transactions.
Buyer Identification: Conducts research to identify buyers for sell-side clients. Tracks detailed information related to those buyers, as well as other M&A deal-related information.
Buy Side Execution: Assesses companies as investments for buyer clients by examining financial engagements and related valuations. Analyzes financial information needed to forecast trends and support sound acquisition decisions.
Client Support: Acts as a point of contact for clients throughout engagements. Builds client relationships and actively provides support for pitching to potential clients and transaction execution.
Communication skills: Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively prepare documents and interface with senior and junior team members.
Leadership skills: Participates in the recruitment, development, and training of junior resources.
Project Management: Responsible for coordinating time-bound deliverables from the junior team to ensure timelines are met.
Requirements
Experience
2 year relevant industry experience in investment banking required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Management, and/or Accounting or related required (combination of education and experience may be considered a degree equivalent)
Certifications / Licenses
Series 63 license and 79 (required to obtain within 6 months of hire date)
Technical Competencies
Proficiency with financial modeling, client presentations, and valuation analyses. Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe, Pitchbook, and AI prompts and agents.
Travel Requirements
There is a level of non-local travel based on specific engagements and business development activities.
The wage range for this position in Washington is: 125k-225k
Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. This role may also be eligible for a bonus.
