Position Summary
The Assistant Branch Manager partners with the Branch Manager to achieve branch growth, profitability, and customer service objectives while ensuring compliance with established bank policies. This role supports daily branch operations, provides leadership and development for retail staff, and serves as a trusted resource for customers by identifying financial needs and recommending solutions. The Assistant Branch Manager also serves as a backup to the Branch Manager and plays a key role in creating a positive customer and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build and strengthen customer relationships by identifying needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services.
  • Serve as a consultant to customers and make referrals to specialized banking partners when appropriate.
  • Assist customers with account maintenance, inquiries, and problem resolution.
  • Explain bank products, account features, and regulatory requirements in a clear and professional manner.
  • Ensure proper staffing and support branch operations to maintain exceptional customer service standards.
  • Monitor branch activities for compliance with bank policies and applicable regulations.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and maintain operational efficiency and security awareness.
  • Lead, coach, and develop branch staff through ongoing training, feedback, and performance support.

Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or an Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Broad knowledge of retail banking products and services.
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to balance sales goals with delivering an outstanding customer experience.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with banking technology and the ability to identify opportunities for operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Previous banking, customer service, or retail leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, or developing team members preferred.
  • Consumer lending experience or willingness to learn is a plus.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
WORK LOCATION: In Person
SCHEDULE: Day shift Monday through Friday with some Saturday mornings
