The Commercial Banking Trainee will be responsible for analyzing commercial loan customers and real estate projects for financial and business risks. This position will complete an extensive training program including specialized external classroom and on-the-job training with experienced Associates. The Commercial Banking Trainee will review balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in addition to analyzing industry and market risks , preparing credit memorandums, financial spreadsheets, relationship/profitability analysis and other tasks associated with supporting Relationship Managers. This Associate will work with business clients with revenues of $2.5 to $100 million and/or real estate transactions from $1 to $15 million in credit exposure.

Due to the training curriculum, this role will be required to work in Wilmington, DE for the first 12-18 months of employment, and may be expected to travel within the bank's footprint or other offices, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Prior equivalent work experience which provides a basis for commercial loan underwriting and analysis, including the review and interpretation of client financial statements and tax returns, review and understanding of data in both personal and business bureaus is required.
  • Previous credit and financial statement review experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous banking and financial services experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills are required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, including Excel spreadsheet skills, is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate is required.

Salary Range:

$42,289.00 - $69,475.00

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate's experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.

In addition to base salary, WSFS Financial Corporation (WSFS) and its subsidiaries may offer eligible Associates discretionary and formula-based incentive and retention awards.
