Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for soliciting,negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of routine consumer andcommercial loans.  Examines, evaluates,and authorizes or recommends approval of customer loan applications.  Also promotes business for the Bank bydeveloping new commercial and consumer business growth and cross-sellingopportunities.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

   Interview loan applicants and request requiredinformation for determining a credit decision.

  Conduct creditanalysis to support granting loan approval within assigned lending authority orprior to requesting approval from a co-approving officer.

  Ensure loanagreements and other pertinent documentation are complete and accurateaccording to policy.

  Compile loanpackage and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant, includingfees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.

   Serve as primary contact in responding to customer andnon-customer inquiries relative to loan and deposit products, rates,procedures, etc.

   Demonstrate knowledge of Bank loan products andservices including real estate, construction and development, working capitallines, equipment, and vehicle.

  Follow bankpolicies and procedures, security guidelines, and comply with all federal,state and local regulations.  Includescoordinating with legal counsel and bank operating departments to ensureadherence to laws and regulations relating to new and/or revised bank productsand services.

  Assume ownershipof customer problems to achieve resolution.

  Promote businessfor the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers toappropriate staff for new services usingBank-endorsed techniques and processes.

  Assist in attaining established Bank and branch goals through activeparticipation in sales management and officer call programs.  Includes promotingand cross-selling other Bank products and services as appropriate for customerrequirements.

  Identify andanalyze potential loan markets to develop commercial loan and depositprospects.

   Support the activities of the assigned banking officeincluding consulting with tellers and customer service representatives andgranting officer approval of transactions as appropriate.

   Support the Bank's CRA Officer by reporting CRA data.

   Engage in community involvement and civic activitiesand, at times, take a leadership role in such organizations.


Qualifications

   Bachelor's degree, or at least 5 years of related experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience.

   Effective oral and written communication skills.

   Effective interviewing skills.

   Ability to speak effectively before groups.

   Ability to compute basic to moderately complex mathcalculations.

   Basic problem-solving and analytical skills.  Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

   Proficiency in using personal computers and officeproducts (e.g., Word, Excel).

   Ability to underwrite and properly package a loan.
