Job Overview: The candidate is responsible for managing and growing an established portfolio of residential builders, developers, contractors, and construction borrowers. This individual will focus on providing exceptional customer service, building long-term relationships, identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships, and developing new construction lending business while maintaining sound credit quality and risk management.
The candidate for this position will be responsible for:
  • Managing an established portfolio of builder and construction lending relationships by delivering exceptional customer service and serving as the primary point of contact
  • Building long-term relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to expand lending, deposit, treasury management, and other commercial banking services
  • Developing new residential construction lending relationships through referrals, networking, community involvement, and business development efforts
  • Originating residential construction loans, including builder guidance lines, spec home financing, pre-sold construction loans, lot loans, and residential development loans
  • Conducting builder visits, construction site inspections, and customer meetings to strengthen relationships and identify financing opportunities
  • Preparing credit presentations and working with Credit Administration throughout the underwriting and approval process
  • Monitoring builder performance, inventory levels, project progress and market conditions
  • Representing the bank within the residential construction industry and local Home Builders Associations

Requirements for the position include:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of three years of banking, commercial lending, mortgage lending, construction lending, business development, sales, or related financial services experience
  • Strong relationship management, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to travel regularly for customer meetings, builder visits, loan closings, construction site inspections, and industry events

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
  • Proven ability to develop and manage long-term relationships with residential builders, developers, contractors, and construction borrowers
  • Proven success in relationship management, business development, and portfolio growth
  • Experience identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through lending, treasury management, deposit, and other commercial banking products
  • Strong understanding of local residential housing markets, construction industry trends, and builder financing needs
  • Knowledge of residential construction or commercial lending, credit analysis, and underwriting principles
  • Active involvement in the local business or residential construction community through industry associations, networking organizations, or community events
