About the position

A Treasury Management Officer focuses on growing a financial institution's deposit base by attracting new customers and increasing deposits from existing ones. The primary responsibilities include prospecting for new business, closing deposit sales, and providing customer support related to deposit products. The primary goal of a Treasury Management Officer is to increase the total amount of deposits held by the financial institution. This contributes to the bank's overall profitability and financial stability.

At FLB, the successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring and managing mid to high revenue clients, with a focus on net new client deposit acquisition. This role requires a deep understanding of complex financial products and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients. Exposure to a diverse mix of companies from $2 Million to $20 Million in revenue. The primary customer focus is non-borrowing business clients within the defined geographic market(s).

This position reports to the President of First Lonestar Bank.

Primary Responsibilities/Duties

  • Actively sell the Bank's business products and services in a professional manner through an established number of pre-arranged, well-planned outside sales calls on a weekly basis with follow-up as needed to gain and optimize the business relationship.
  • Primary focus is on net new, non-borrowing business/commercial relationships.
  • Provide and/or assist with account opening and maintenance.
  • Provide support and guidance to customers regarding deposit products and services.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Answer questions and problem resolution for customers concerning all services provided by the Bank; identify/own the problem, collect data, secure answers and report results to the inquiring party and work with other branch teammates or other bank associates as necessary; and practice the Sundown Rule (i.e., return calls, respond to the customer within the day, etc.) when possible or provide update.
  • Conduct regular relationship reviews to ensure their financial goals are being met and identify future needs.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with internal partners to deliver value for customers, prospects and colleagues.
  • Listen attentively and ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and preferences; and take prompt actions to address immediate needs.
  • Proactively look for ways to optimize performance by seeking training, coaching, supporting Bank initiatives and leveraging bank's tools to enhance activities.
  • Proactively identify and help implement improvements to deposit acquisition and service processes.
  • Adhere to all regulations, bank policies, procedures and delegated authorities to effectively manage risk associated to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory and legal aspects of personal interactions, customer transactions and financial exposures.
  • Fulfill mandatory training requirements within specified timeframes.
  • Perform general office management duties as assigned to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in all client interactions.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on client acquisition and revenue growth and maintain an accurate pipeline.
  • Refer potential loan clients as necessary to business partners
  • Meet assigned production goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Financial Services/Banking with successful track record of increasing deposits/business development. OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Financial Services/Banking business development.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Networking & Established Centers of Influence.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills. Must have the ability to build rapport, understand customer needs, and present deposit products effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Financial acumen/literacy. Understanding of financial concepts, financial statements and cash cycles.
  • Knowledge of Business deposit and Treasury management solutions.
  • Knowledge of Retail Banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
