Location: Redmond

Compensation: $24.51/hour (Plus $0.50/hour for Spanish Bilingual ability)

Hours: Regular full-time, 40 hours/week

NeighborImpact Food Bank Overview

NeighborImpact Food Bank is a vital resource in Central Oregon, distributing around 6 million pounds of food annually through a network of over 50 partner agencies. Serving Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, the program feeds approximately 75,000 individuals each month, including children, families, and older adults. Committed to fighting hunger and supporting the community, NeighborImpact Food Bank ensures that no one in our service area goes without food.


Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for driving non-CDL rated box trucks for pick-ups of food from donors and deliveries to recipient agencies. This is done while adhering to proper food storage and handling procedures and is responsible for food tracking using established record and inventory systems. The driver represents the NeighborImpact Food Bank professionally during public interactions, delivering exceptional customer service. Additionally, warehouse duties such as processing orders, sorting, organizing, and receiving food donations are integral to this position.

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of 1-year delivery driver experience preferred and experience with vehicles rated up to 19,500 GVW preferred. (No CDL required)
  • This position is rated as active and requires the individual to lift 50 pounds
  • Experience in safely driving a delivery vehicle required
  • Intermediate computer skills required, including working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet navigation
  • Employment is contingent upon receipt of a safe driving record based on DMV check and must be free of any moving violations within the past 3 years
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of partner agencies
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification within 90 days of hire
  • Achieve Food Handler's certification within 30 days of hire - maintain certification throughout employment
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. Valid driver's license
  2. Proof of current auto insurance
  3. Access to reliable transportation 
  4. Satisfactory criminal background check 

Preferred:

  • Experience with forklift operation preferred
  • Experience in food handling is preferred
