Position Purpose

The Healthcare Banking Program Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding relationships with healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of a newly established Healthcare Solutions Program focused on serving privately owned healthcare practices including physician, dental, veterinary, and other healthcare professional practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing market strategy, building referral networks, helping define program standards, and establishing the foundation for future program growth. The Healthcare Banking Program Manager serves as a trusted financial advisor to clients and prospects by combining healthcare industry expertise with commercial banking knowledge to help clients achieve their strategic and financial objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Healthcare Banking Program Development

  • Assist in the development and execution of the Bank's Healthcare Banking strategy focused on privately owned healthcare practices.
  • Help establish and grow a new healthcare banking program within the Bank.
  • Develop marketing, referral, and business development strategies designed to attract healthcare professionals and practice owners.
  • Work with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and establish performance goals for the healthcare banking business line.
  • Help define healthcare lending standards, product offerings, and relationship management practices.

Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of healthcare industry clients.
  • Build long-term relationships with physicians, dentists, veterinarians, healthcare practice administrators, and healthcare business owners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the healthcare sector.
  • Generate new loan, deposit, treasury management, and fee income opportunities.
  • Actively participate in healthcare associations, industry events, and networking organizations to enhance the Bank's visibility and business development efforts.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to understand changing business needs and identify opportunities to expand relationships.

Commercial Lending

  • Develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio.
  • Interview customers to determine loan requirements and gather necessary information for loan applications.
  • Analyze financial statements and other relevant data to recommend the best lending solutions based on customer needs and financial capabilities.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness and present well-structured lending proposals
  • Offer tailored financial solutions to meet customer objectives, while enhancing customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop customized loan proposals and present them to customers to secure new business and maintain existing relationships.
  • Follow up on pending loan deals and loan renewals.
  • Provide updates on portfolio performance, new business, and market developments to senior leadership.

Healthcare Industry Expertise

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of healthcare industry trends, reimbursement models, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.
  • Understand the financial drivers unique to healthcare organizations and professional practices.
  • Provide financial guidance and strategic insights relevant to healthcare providers.
  • Monitor industry developments and identify emerging opportunities and risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Treasury Management, Wealth Management, Retail Banking, Mortgage, and other business lines to provide comprehensive banking solutions.
  • Collaborate with Credit Administration and Loan Operations to ensure effective relationship management and loan servicing.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to achieve portfolio growth and profitability
Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5-10 years of commercial lending or commercial banking experience.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Healthcare lending experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of business development and portfolio growth.
  • Experience underwriting and managing complex commercial credit relationships.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret detailed financial reports, credit presentations, and other business documents.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to travel independently to customer locations, bank offices, networking events, and community functions.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry files, reports, or presentation materials weighing up to 15-20 pounds.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs require, including attendance at customer meetings, community events, or business development activities outside of normal banking hours.

Work Environment

  • Primarily performed in a professional office environment.
  • Frequent interaction with customers in offices, manufacturing facilities, healthcare facilities, construction sites, farms, and other commercial business locations.
  • Moderate travel within assigned market area and occasional travel to other bank locations for meetings or training.
