Location - Liverpool, NY

Job Overview

The Junior Customer Service Analyst provides essential support to the Customer Service team by managing and analyzing inventory information for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) accounts. This entry-level position focuses on reviewing inventory data, consumption trends, and demand forecasts to help develop effective replenishment plans. The role works closely with Customer Service, Operations, and Planning teams to provide accurate inventory information, identify potential supply issues, and help ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently and on time.


Job Responsibilities


Inventory & VMI Support

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels, historical usage, and safety stock requirements for VMI accounts.
  • Track inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages or excess inventory, providing timely updates to the Customer Service team.
  • Review customer demand trends and usage patterns to develop replenishment recommendations based on available data.
  • Review and verify inventory records, stock reports, and related documentation to ensure information is accurate across internal systems.


Customer Service & Order Support

  • Act as an internal resource for the Customer Service team regarding inventory availability, order status, and related issues.
  • Prepare and process work orders and replenishment schedules while coordinating with Production Planning to meet required specifications and timelines.
  • Support the Customer Service team by reviewing pricing, line-item details, and invoice information for accuracy before billing.
  • Research inventory discrepancies, shipping issues, and return requests and assist in identifying root causes and appropriate solutions.


Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Prepare regular inventory, order fill-rate, and VMI performance reports for internal management and customer service teams.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve inventory tracking, order processes, and communication between Customer Service and Supply Chain.


Qualifications & Requirements


Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with or familiarity with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.


Core Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns within data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory and order information.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify practical solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
