Software Development Engineering - Advisor II

About your role:

As a Software Development Engineer, you will design, build, and enhance software for the Finxact Core as a Service platform that supports banking and financial institution services. You will work with business analysts, engineers, and implementation partners to deliver scalable application capabilities, improve software quality, and support cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. Your work helps drive reliable, secure, and effective financial services technology.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop, test, and enhance application features for the Finxact Core as a Service platform using modern software engineering practices.
  • Partner with business analysts, engineers, and system users to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and support implementation outcomes.
  • Build and support application programming interfaces (APIs) and service integrations using Representational State Transfer (REST) services, Swagger, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and Git-based development workflows.
  • Improve software quality by increasing automated test coverage, resolving defects, and strengthening application reliability and maintainability.
  • Provide technical guidance to developers by reviewing designs, supporting solution discussions, and promoting financial services software engineering best practices.
  • Work with external partners to understand implementation approaches and apply knowledge of cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) technologies to solution delivery.
  • Execute against time-sensitive deliverables by managing multiple development activities, analyzing technical and business information, and adapting to changing priorities.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in software application design and development within financial services, core banking, loan servicing, deposit operations, card processing, customer relationship management (CRM), or related enterprise platforms.
  • 6+ years of experience developing and integrating APIs and distributed services using RESTful services, Swagger or similar API documentation tools, JSON, and Git.
  • 6+ years of experience analyzing business and technical requirements and translating them into application design, development, and implementation outcomes.
  • Experience leading technical design discussions, reviewing solution approaches, and guiding other developers without direct people management responsibility.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence (AI)-driven development practices to improve engineering efficiency, code quality, or delivery outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience developing software for cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.
  • Experience working with core banking platforms, including Finxact.
  • Experience with Golang or a similar object-oriented or service-oriented programming language.
  • Experience supporting partner implementations in regulated financial services environments.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Salary Range

$109,000.00 - $182,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
