Job description

At Mandarich Law Group, LLP, we are looking for great people to bring their passion and strong work ethic to the job. We are a creditors' rights law firm located in downtown Chicago.

We are currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. Monday through Friday from 8AM - 5PM in office.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and issue daily a high volume of court cost checks and review/ upload journal entry file to ERP system following policies and procedures.
  • Distribute checks in a timely manner to the requesting legal team members
  • Ensure that all returned checks are voided in the system and all adjusting journal entries are booked accurately in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Respond to all internal and external inquiries related to court cost checks.
  • Research and resolve any issues that pertain to court cost check processing such as lost checks, returned checks by the bank due to various errors etc.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation of the court cost bank account.  Ability to use AI feature in ERP system to assist in bank reconciliation.
  • Respond to all client inquiries regarding potential court cost duplicates in a timely manner
  • Conduct "positive pay" reviews of daily disbursement file provided by bank such as uploading, reviewing, and approving positive pay exceptions, as requested.
  • Assist in gathering client requested information for court cost audits
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for IOLTA accounts, as needed.
  • Maintain IOLTA cash account activity and reconcile, as needed.
  • Assist in client compliance inquiries.
  • Perform court cost resubmissions to clients, as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related business field or
  • Minimum associate degree in accounting with at least 2 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounts payable with a high volume of activity
