The Branch Manager is a dynamic, results-oriented leader responsible for the overall performance, growth and success of a WaFd branch. This high-impact role focuses on driving business development and sales, particularly with small businesses, while growing deposits, originating loans, and expanding client relationships through cross-selling additional services. The Branch Manager is responsible to lead, coach and develop a high-performing team to achieve growth goals, deliver outstanding customer service, and ensures compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

Branch Managers must:

  • Reflect the corporate values of WaFd Bank, including integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline and service.
  • Conduct themselves in accordance with company ethics standards at all times.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all communication and consistently be kind.
  • Meet performance metrics and production goals.
  • Coach, motivate, mentor and provide feedback to staff.
  • Ensure a consistently high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Adhere to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in banking, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role; prior sales or client relations experience, preferred.
  • Proven success in small business development, deposit/loan growth, and cross-selling.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and operational procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), keyboarding, and digital banking tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to be bonded.
