Job description

About the Role:
Atlas Metal Cutting Inc is looking for an entry-level Amada Horizontal Band Saw Operator. 
Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate band saw equipment to cut metal materials to specified dimensions
  • Read and interpret work orders and cutting specifications
  • Inspect finished cuts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance and blade changes on band saw machinery
  • Measure and mark raw metal stock prior to cutting using calipers and measuring tools
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety protocols
  • Monitor machine performance and report any mechanical issues to supervisors
  • Material handling using a forklift
Requirements:
  • Prior experience operating a band saw or similar metal cutting machinery is helpful
  • Ability to read cutting specifications
  • Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, quality cuts
  • Knowledge of safe material handling practices
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy metal stock as needed
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively
