Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who can assist and lead Fire Control System Development efforts for SLBM Fire Control; providing supporting for our customer in Dahlgren, VA. Along the way, advise the Government by researching technologies and developing procedures for new Fleet capabilities. Help design, review and contribute to the Navy's new system. Essential Responsibilities: Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Dahlgren, VA. Like learning about new systems and leading edge weapon systems capabilities? Come learn and explore new technologies, new software, new hardware, and development tools in support of the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Program. Along the way, advise the Government by supporting development of new concepts and technologies and new Fleet capabilities. Help support to the Navy's new system. Responsibilities: * Provide Systems Engineering support for the evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWCDD supporting Strategic Systems Programs. * Provide meeting facilitation for SLBM Meetings and Design Reviews. * Perform a range of analysis or review tasks related to new designs and implementations of the Fire Control System for SLBM. * Coordinate and work closely with other engineering and management disciplines to support design reviews. * Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and design artifacts. * Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels, providing systems engineering support. * Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards related to SLBM Developments. * Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Requirements: * Education: A Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or ten years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise. * Experience: Ten years professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control (C2), and/or fire control systems program, with five years' concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements and top level designs and/or system architectures for software intensive systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities. * Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or other SLBM organizations supporting Fire Control System Developments. * Top Secret Clearance.
