The Balanced Being Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and qualified Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative team. This position operates in a remote setting, enabling counselors to connect with clients through secure online platforms. Counselors will use electronic health record systems like AVATAR to document client progress accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and maintain detailed documentation of client cases from initial consultation through treatment conclusion.
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health using recognized assessment tools and techniques.
• Collaboratively develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions aimed at achieving desired therapeutic outcomes.
• Regularly monitor client progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting interventions as necessary to promote recovery.
• Work closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.
• Provide follow-up support by liaising with psychiatric and medical staff for clients requiring hospitalization.
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder clients' recovery, offering personalized strategies for improvement.
• Assist family members and caregivers in understanding and managing the mental health challenges of their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base encompasses a diverse range of age groups and backgrounds, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and addiction disorders. As a licensed mental health counselor, you will be integral in providing compassionate, client-centered care that acknowledges each person's unique struggles and strengths. You will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their personal journeys to mental wellness.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proven experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating clinical skills and effective intervention techniques.
• Proficient use of electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Background knowledge of various physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders, to provide comprehensive care.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
• In-depth understanding of pharmacological treatments prescribed for mental health issues, to better inform client discussions.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with an empathetic and approachable demeanor.

Compensation and Benefits
