Job description

Our Bakery Manager (Afternoon/Evening Shift) supports Tatte's mission to inspire, care for, and nurture life every day by overseeing all aspects of afternoon and evening bakery operations. Bakery Managers are responsible for ensuring products are prepared according to Tatte recipes, specifications, and quality standards while supporting safe, efficient, and organized production and delivery operations.
This role partners closely with bakery leadership and operations teams to support production execution, team development, food safety, and operational excellence throughout the bakery.
We are looking for leaders who thrive in fast paced production environments, lead with accountability and empathy, and are passionate about developing strong teams while maintaining exceptional product quality and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
We expect our Bakery Managers to:
  • Lead with professionalism, accountability, and strong operational leadership
  • Maintain high standards for product quality, consistency, cleanliness, and organization
  • Support and develop bakery team members through coaching and accountability
  • Uphold food safety, sanitation, and operational standards at all times
  • Promote Tatte's mission, values, and commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging
  • Have flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Ensure products consistently meet Tatte recipe and quality standards
  • Create and manage accurate bakery team schedules
  • Direct afternoon and evening bakery operations to support efficient and safe production
  • Oversee quality control processes for proofing, baking, finishing, packaging, and fulfillment
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and Good
  • Manufacturing Practice standards
  • Support staffing, onboarding, development, accountability, and team member well being for bakery employees under supervision
  • Partner with bakery leadership to support operational planning, labor management, and waste control
  • Partner with the Logistics Manager to oversee afternoon and evening deliveries
  • Participate in management meetings and support communication of operational updates and product information
  • Maintain strong working relationships across bakery leadership, café operations, and support teams
  • Understand and follow crisis management procedures
  • Other related assignments as necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time in a production bakery environment
  • Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work afternoon and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume production environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 1-2 years of management experience overseeing large teams, preferably within food manufacturing or high volume production environments
  • Ability or willingness to learn bakery production equipment including ovens, proofers, and fryers
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to lead teams with professionalism, empathy, and accountability
  • Positive and solutions oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience working in baking or food manufacturing environments
  • Prior management experience within high volume production facilities
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Experience building and developing high performing teams
  • Spanish language skills strongly preferred
