Job description

The Role
The Pastry Cook reports to the Head Pastry Chef. The primary responsibilities of the Pastry Cook includes preparing, cooking, garnishing & presentation of desserts. The position also requires to check quality of pastry products as well as inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure company standards.

The Requirements
As a Pastry Cook we would love you to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship
  • 3-5 years experience as a Pastry Cook at a 4/5 star hotel or restaurant
  • Food handling certificate
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to stand during an entire shift
  • Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object
  • Knowledge of Latin and Asian cuisine a plus
