Job Description: Bagging Technician
1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 6AM-3:30PM & Friday 6AM-10AM
Location: 2700 S Custer Ave, Wichita, KS 67217
Description:
This position is responsible for using various vacuum materials to conceal a pre-cured part on a tool or mandrel and install the vacuum to prepare for oven/autoclave cure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Visually checks part to make sure there is no FOD or other imperfections prior to bagging.
  • Performs leak checks prior to cure.
  • Works with small hand tools to prepare part for cure.
  • Applies the vacuum bag materials, bleeders, and breather cloths, around the mold or mandrel for parts of simple to medium complexity for oven and/or autoclave cure.
  • Installs vacuum connecters to the bag.
  • Installs thermocouples to part.
  • Precise work with hands to perform detail pleat placement.
  • Follows work instructions to bag and wrap parts appropriately.
  • Correctly documents relevant data for material traceability purposes.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally to team members.
  • Works under the direction of a lead or supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work as a team player and as an individual contributor.
  • Ability to work safely in a production environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Continuous Standing
  • Occasionally exposed to chemicals.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40lbs. Objects weighing over 40lbs must have assistance.
  • Dress to appropriate safety standards, including: safety glasses, plastic gloves, lab coats and hair nets.
