Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Backup Engineer with a solid background in system administration, backup operations, and infrastructure technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong scripting skills, hands-on expertise in both Windows and/or Linux administration, and familiarity with modern cloud and containerized environments. This role involves supporting enterprise backup systems, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing storage and backup processes.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize enterprise backup systems and storage platforms.
  • Perform regular backup, recovery, and restoration operations across multiple platforms.
  • Administer Windows and/or Linux servers, including system configuration and patching.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to streamline operational tasks.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams on containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for system automation.
  • Troubleshoot networking components including DNS, firewalls, routing, and connectivity issues.
  • Ensure best practices in data protection, compliance, and security standards are maintained.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience as a System Administrator with a focus on platform, storage, and backup technologies.
  • Strong scripting expertise in Python, PowerShell, Bash.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies - Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with configuration management tools - Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
