PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Manage, maintain, support, and secure the district's technology infrastructure, servers, network systems, cloud environments, and enterprise applications to ensure reliable and efficient technology operations that support instruction and district business functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
Relevant industry certifications preferred:
  • Amplified Admin Level 1 & 2 (Google)
  • Server+

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
Strong organizational, motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hands-on transformational style of leadership
Flexibility, patience, and perseverance
Ability to develop business/community partnerships and public relations
Ability to take risks, multitask, solve problems, and negotiate with a variety of entities
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration
Experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Azure, Exchange Server, SIS systems, POS systems, and cloud-based systems
Experience in K 12 educational technology environments preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systems Administration
  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain district servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory environment, Group Policy, Backup systems, Database servers, Web servers, user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
  • Maintain virtualization environments including VMware or Hyper-V systems.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and maintenance.

Cloud and Application Management
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other cloud-based platforms.
  • Support email systems, file storage systems, and user access management.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot district instructional and business applications.

Cybersecurity and Data Protection
  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures and district technology security protocols.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, and potential threats.
  • Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with district technology policies and data privacy regulations.

Technical Support
  • Provide advanced technical support to district administrators and campus staff.
  • Respond to help desk tickets and escalated technology issues in a timely manner.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain accurate technology records.

Project Management and Collaboration
  • Assist with technology projects, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Coordinate with vendors and technology partners regarding hardware, software, and services.
  • Support district technology initiatives and long-range technology planning.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May provide guidance and support to campus technicians or technology support staff as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Maintain emotional control under stress
  • Frequent districtwide travel
  • On-call support for technology emergencies when necessary
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and lifting of technology equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry technology equipment up to 50 pounds

Physical Demands/ Environment Factors:
Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of the computer; Work with frequent interruptions; will be required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs frequently; regular attendance; apply CPI techniques in an appropriate and effective manner. Frequent district-wide travel is also required.
