Please note: This position is based on need and availability. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Event Technician will assist Operations and Event Coordinator, Technical and 
Assistant Technical Directors in day to day operations of University Theatre 
venues in support of campus events, rental clients and University Theatre 
performances as required. 
Duties will include: 
- Backstage duties as assigned, including but not limited to lighting operation 
(lighting consoles, follow spotlights), sound reinforcement (FOH console 
operation, audio system setup), load-in and load-out assistance, occasional 
system and facilities maintenance. 
- Front of house technicians: position will serve as house manager, 
responsible for coordinating all Front-Of-House (FOH) operations in the 
Theatre spaces. Specific responsibilities include training and supervising 
ushers; communicating with stage managers and technical supervisors 
during and in advance of performances; and ensuring the safety of all 
patrons using theatre spaces. Experience in dealing with the public of all 
ages; sensitivity to the needs of patrons; upbeat, enthusiastic attitude in 
public relations; ability to enforce department safety regulations and 
communicate the same to the public; attention to detail; ability to 
troubleshoot problems and work for customer satisfaction, ability to work 
independently with limited direct supervision.
