Event Security Personnel At Ic Arena

Experts in the art of hospitality, Idaho Central Arena and Block22 Companies create memorable experiences. We are a destination for experiences beyond the ordinary, the heart of downtown Boise. As Event Security Personnel at IC Arena, you will help create a safe and welcoming environment for all guests by monitoring crowds, enforcing house policies, and supporting secure entry and backstage operations during events.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and welcoming presence throughout the arena, engaging with guests and proactively offering assistance while maintaining a safe, comfortable, and family-friendly environment.
  • Conduct guest entry and security screenings in a friendly and respectful manner while consistently following the Clear Bag Policy and utilizing Walk-Through Metal Detectors, Hand-Held Security Wands, and permitted bag inspections.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout assigned areas while actively monitoring guest activity, crowd flow, lines, entrances, concourses, seating areas, tunnels, and other high-traffic areas to promote safety and assist guests in navigating the facility.
  • Proactively identify and address potential safety, security, or guest-service concerns before they escalate, using sound judgment and communicating appropriate information to management.
  • Promote and enforce arena policies in a fair, consistent, and guest-focused manner, including responsible alcohol service standards, smoking and vaping policies, appropriate guest conduct, and other event-specific expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with Guest Services, event staff, management, and other arena departments to respond to guest needs, complaints, incidents, and operational challenges, including assisting with difficult or escalated guest interactions.
  • Monitor backstage areas, bus parking, tunnels, entrances, and other restricted or sensitive areas while maintaining a professional and unobtrusive presence.
  • Assist with emergency response, evacuation procedures, crowd control, and other safety-related activities as directed.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, sound judgment, and effective communication in all interactions with guests, coworkers, performers, and event partners.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of previous security experience working directly with the public in an event or customer-facing environment preferred.
  • Previous law enforcement or military security experience may be considered in lieu of traditional security or event experience.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with guests and confidently addressing difficult or challenging situations in a professional and service-oriented manner.
  • Must be able to remain alert and attentive while standing and walking for extended periods of time, must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally assist with event setup and teardown, including chair setup.
  • Must be available to work a flexible event-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled events.
  • Commit to working at least 60% of scheduled or ticketed events each month.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
