Job description

Description
The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Security Officer.
The Fox Theatre Security Team is responsible for the safety and security of the Fox Theatre, its employees, guests, patrons, and assets at all times. Team members work in various posts on Fox Theatre property both in event-related and non-event security capacities including through event security and screening, crowd management, 24/7 access control, and video monitoring.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Secures premises and personnel during regular business hours and public events by monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling property, and inspecting facility, equipment, and all access points.
  • Control and monitor all access (to include staff, contractors/vendors, stagehands, artists, promoters, and visitors) through backstage and other areas of the theatre.
  • Control and monitor vehicle access into the alley, loading zone, and permitted parking areas. Park authorized vehicles and prohibit unauthorized access as necessary. When needed, set up and take down all parking permit requirements (cones, signs, bike rack, etc.).
  • Limit loss and damage by reporting and documenting any irregularities (trespassers, building damage, leaks, unsecured access points, etc.) and by informing violators of policies and procedures.
  • Administer and maintain all sign-in sheets for stagehands, contractors, and visitors.
  • Set up and conduct the security screening process for all guests, employees, and artists entering the facility while prohibiting specific items as instructed.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations, patron issues, or disturbances within the area of responsibility.
  • Other duties as directed.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must have 3 or more years of Facility Security experience or customer service experience.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Must possess general computer proficiency skills, including but not limited to word processing, e-mail, internet navigation, and web searches.
  • Must be able to work successfully both as part of a team and independently with limited instruction.
  • Must be able to use sound judgment and common sense effectively while under pressure.
  • Must be able to maintain strict company, staff, and guest confidentiality.
  • CPR and First Aid Training preferred.
  • Trained Crowd Managers Course preferred.
  • Experience with Avigilon or similar camera monitoring software is preferred.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required.
  • Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs.
  • Must be able to lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally and must be able to pull/push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary.
  • This position will be required to physically assist guests and employees as needed.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to work extended or irregular hours, including hours outside normal shifts, as needed.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays to maintain a 24/7 security team presence.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer, pre employment, background check.
