Job description

Fire Sprinkler Service Technician (Growth to Service Leader)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to support our growing service department. This role begins with a strong focus on independently performing inspections and small service work, with a clear path to grow into a Service Leadership position as workload and responsibility increase.
Initial Responsibilities (0-12 Months)
Focus: Field execution, compliance, and independence
Inspection & Service

  • Perform routine fire sprinkler system inspections in accordance with NFPA standards
  • Identify deficiencies and document required corrective actions
  • Complete small service and repair work (head replacements, minor leaks, valve repairs)
  • Test and maintain system components including control valves and alarms
Licensing & Compliance
  • Perform and document backflow testing (BPAT) in accordance with Texas requirements
  • Operate under and support compliance with RME-I licensing standards
  • Maintain all required documentation for inspections and regulatory compliance
Operations & Communication
  • Manage daily schedule and complete assigned jobs independently
  • Accurately complete inspection reports and service tickets
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle
Growth Responsibilities (12+ Months / As Department Expands)
Focus: Ownership, coordination, and technical development
Advanced Technical Execution
  • Diagnose more complex system issues and recommend solutions
  • Take on larger and more complex service projects
  • Improve efficiency and productivity in field operations
Licensing Advancement
  • Maintain active Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester -BPAT certification for state of Texas
  • Maintain RME-I license valid in the state of Texas
  • Ensure work performed aligns with all state and local regulatory requirements
Operational Support
  • Assist with scheduling, job prioritization, and workload coordination
  • Identify additional service opportunities and support business growth
  • Build strong, ongoing customer relationships
Leadership Responsibilities (Future Role: Service Leader)
Focus: Team leadership, accountability, and department growth
Team & Operations Management
  • Coordinate daily service operations and technician scheduling
  • Supervise, mentor, and train technicians and new hires
  • Review inspection reports for accuracy and compliance
Compliance & Quality Control
  • Ensure team adherence to Backflow Prevention Assembly Testing and RME-I licensing requirements for the state of Texas.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, code compliance, and workmanship
Customer & Business Development
  • Serve as primary contact for key customers
  • Support estimating, quoting, and upselling service work
  • Help drive department growth and operational efficiency
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Inspector
  • Valid RME-I License
  • Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) certification, preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
