Job description

Role Overview:
The Java Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services and APIs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features that meet business needs. The ideal candidate will optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring smooth operation under high load, and will implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment automation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features.
  • Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment automation.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating new tools and frameworks.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to deploy and manage backend services in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to define API contracts and ensure seamless integration.

Required Skills:
  • Expertise with Java/J2EE, Springboot, and Kotlin.
  • Proficiency in building RESTful APIs.
  • Thorough understanding of JSON, Web Service technologies, and data structure fundamentals.
  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
  • Confirmed experience with object-oriented design and coding with a variety of languages.
  • Knowledge of Agentic AI.
  • Familiarity with code quality parameters and GIT branching concepts.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle/DB2, Cassandra, Couchbase).
  • Understanding of Automated testing concepts using Selenium, REST Assured, and Cucumber.
  • Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, and GIT.
  • Expertise in agile life-cycle management tools (e.g., JIRA/Rally), software testing standards, methods, and conventions.

Qualifications:
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience.
