Job description

Description
The intern will join the team working on Eagle Eye Networks’ Clip Service, a key initiative designed to improve how customers save, manage, and interact with surveillance video beyond standard retention periods. In this role, you’ll contribute to building and integrating backend services and user-facing tools that allow operators to easily create, search, and view video clips directly from the timeline. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with existing video archiving systems, data models, and storage solutions, while helping extend APIs, support extraction workflows, and improve playback and search functionality across web applications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and integrating services that support video clip creation, retention, and playback
  • Work with backend APIs and data models used to manage archived video and clip metadata
  • Support updates to web applications such as the History Browser and Clip Management interfaces
  • Help implement and test workflows for extracting and persisting video assets (images, video segments, metadata)
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve system usability, performance, and internal workflows
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and documentation to support a reliable production system

Must-Have Skills & Experience
  • Experience or coursework in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
  • Familiarity with video processing and streaming.
  • Moderate understanding of web applications, APIs, and data-driven systems
