Sr. Python Developer (Remote, Contract-to-Hire)
Durham, NC | 6-Month Contract-to-Hire | No Visa Sponsorship
About the Role
Join a forward-thinking engineering team as a Sr. Python Developer, supporting mission-critical systems that drive lab order intake, processing, and interpretation. In this high-impact, fully remote position, you'll solve complex, ambiguous problems, lead key integration projects, and set the technical standard for a collaborative, globally distributed team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for professionals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver end-to-end projects across product and platform teams
- Design, build, and maintain a central monolithic system using Python and Django
- Develop robust API-driven system integrations with a strong backend focus
- Modernize and stabilize core platform functionality for long-term scalability
- Provide production support and participate in on-call rotations
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate team performance through technical leadership
