Job description

Position Description:

Saint Maryโ€™s Hall seeks a skilled and dynamic Math teacher with a passion for Pre-calculus, Geometry, Geometry Honors, and Calculus. The ideal candidate will embody a growth-mindset and support developmentally appropriate competencies to the diverse community of learners represented at Saint Maryโ€™s Hall.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach five classes in the Upper School, providing effective and professional classroom instruction and relevant assessment
  • Serve as advisor to a small group of students
  • Serve as a faculty sponsor to Student Leadership organizations such as Councils and Clubs
  • Assess student abilities through the lens of growth mindset and global competencies
  • Establish regular and effective communication with students and parents
  • Engage regular professional development and identify growthbased goals
  • Participate in required nonclassroom activities including but not limited to parent/teacher conferences, faculty meetings, special activities, and performance events
  • Assist in curriculum coordination and design across the divisions
  • Contribute to a school culture where all community members are seen, safe, and valued.
  • Participate in all required departmental, divisional, and AllStaff meetings
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in mathematics or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • Passion for the subject matter and for working with bright, motivated students in a rigorous, collegepreparatory environment
  • Demonstrated record of a creative and innovative approach to curriculum development and implementation
  • Successful high school or college teaching experience in Math classes preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing and partnership with student support services
  • Independent School experience preferred
  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Work in a fastpaced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and diverse array of contacts
  • May work at a desk and computer for extendedโ€ฏperiods
  • Must be able to teach, instruct, and communicate with students, parents, coworkers, visitors, and other professionals
  • Have a good working knowledge of instructional technology equipment
  • Work primarily in a traditional climatecontrolled environment
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
