Math Teacher
Description:
The Math Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports student growth, critical thinking, and academic achievement in middle school mathematics. The teacher fosters a structured, positive classroom culture while preparing students for advanced mathematical concepts and state assessments.
Reports To: Assistant Principal / Principal
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and deliver daily math instruction aligned to Florida state standards
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ESE and ESOL students
  • Use data to drive instructional decisions and monitor student progress
  • Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records
  • Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and concerns
  • Collaborate with grade-level and instructional teams
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
  • Support student achievement on FAST and other assessments
  • Maintain compliance with all school policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
  • Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Mathematics (Grades 5-9 preferred)
  • Middle school teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ESOL endorsement or certification
  • Experience with accelerated or intensive math intervention
  • Knowledge of standards-based grading and curriculum planning
