Job description

Position Summary:

Vali Incorporated seeks a highly qualified candidate to support our Missile Defense Agency (MDA) contract as an entry level engineer or mathematician in cost estimating and analysis. This position will perform cost estimating analysis support in the development, fielding, and integration of the MDA Missile Defense System. Cost Estimating support includes development and maintenance of Life Cycle Cost Estimates and models for Defense Acquisition programs, analysis and reporting of cost data, and conducting excursions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, present, and defend mathematical cost estimates, cost estimating relationships, and cost models.
  • Develop cost estimating relationships using applied mathematics, probability, statistics, regression analysis, linear algebra, learning curves, and data collection.
  • Use Data Analytics to obtain and analyze essential cost data from contractors' DD Form 1921s and Cost Performance Reports/Integrated Program Management Reports (CPR/IPMR) for the purpose of establishing a credible cost database.
  • Participate in Business Case Analysis (BCA), Analysis of Alternatives (AOA), and risk analysis to develop multiple outputs using input variables by conducting what-if drills, sensitivity analysis, monte-carlo simulations, and other cost-related studies.
  • Review Cost Analysis Requirements Documents (CARDS).
  • Collect and manage cost data, technical baseline data, and cost research/analysis.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, or Business Analytics
  • Cost Estimating, Budget/Financial Management, Systems Engineering, or Data Analytics. Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience with a bachelor's degree or 6 years' experience with a master's degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills and be detail oriented
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Desired Experience:

  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office with a focus on Excel.
  • Membership and certification in International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA).
