Job description

Schedule: Part time, 24 hours per week, 7 am to 4 pm M-Th, 7 am to 12pm F

Pay Range: $22.50 - $28.00, based on experience.

Main Function:  Implements and supervises physical conditioning and aerobic exercise programs. Teaches patients and families regarding healthy lifestyles. 

  • CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES- 95%
    • Is a primary staff member for all day to day aspects of preventative health programs, both PDMP and Cardiac Rehab.
    • Completes initial exercise assessment of patients entering the Cardiac Rehab or PDMP Program.
    • Participates in a team approach to develop the plan of care with associated health care professionals.
    • Orients participants to exercise program, including demonstration of correct body mechanics and safe use of equipment to execute the exercise prescription.
    • Works with individuals to develop individualized exercise program and health plan to follow outside of program.
    • Provides educational programs for participants.
    • Calculates exercise prescription based on GXT as necessary and updates per patient response.
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES-5%
    • Completes annual education requirements.
    • Community Benefit- attends Mended Hearts and/or Better Breathers, and assists with Rose Walk and Pulmonary Fair.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Health, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology or related field required. 
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • CPR required at date of hire. 
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Arrhythmia training required within 6 months of hire.
  • 6 months of experience required with exercise testing, exercise prescription and consultation in a cardiovascular clinical area.

Pay Range: $22.50 - $28.00
