Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting, direct hire recruiting of accounting and finance professionals, is recruiting to fill an Accounting Manager role for a growing not for profit organization in Reno. This is a key new role in the organization and the person in the position will have a wide range of responsibilities including:
Helping to create and implement processes and procedures, develop internal controls and develop organization and compliance around the accounting and finance functions.
Leadership of accounting functions such as AP.
Daily accounting operations and reporting to include GL Maintenance, Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Month End and Year End close, Reporting and Financial Statement Preparation, and Cash Management.
Development of Cost Allocation processes to assign costs to Programs.
Budgeting and Financial Planning to include variance analysis, forecasting and project financial analysis; building models, pro-formas and other financial metrics.
To be considered for this position candidates should have at least 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Noteworthy experience in FP& A is important in this role, so duality of skillset in accounting and finance is important. • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, with the ability to translate financial results into actionable insights.
• Experience preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records in a structured accounting environment.
• Familiarity with financial statement audit support and the documentation required for successful audit completion.
• Ability to build and implement internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures that support compliance and efficiency.
• Experience developing or applying cost allocation methods, ideally within a nonprofit or program-based setting.
• Proven ability to supervise accounting workflows and contribute to the development of an organized, scalable finance function.
