Job description

Accounting Manager

Location: Princeton, MN (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible hours

Compensation: $95,000–$110,000/year, plus bonus, benefits, and PTO

About the Role

Our client is a mission-driven organization looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to bring structure, discipline, and forward-thinking financial leadership to their growing company. This role is central to their financial health — you'll partner closely with leadership to turn big ideas into achievable, well-planned realities.

We're looking for someone who can be a trusted financial partner to ownership: someone who is proactive, honest, and unafraid to say "we can't afford that right now" — while also helping map out a realistic path to "yes." You won't just be tracking numbers; you'll be helping shape the financial future of a company that's still growing and dreaming big.

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Help develop, monitor, and manage the annual cash flow chart
  • Oversee all functions of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with our client's accounting firm and expedite all aspects of our client's financial accounting systems
  • Develop the company trust agreement
  • Perform periodic bookkeeping functions (monthly, quarterly, and year-end)
  • Help develop and manage annual site-specific and company-wide budgets
  • Work with our client's management team to provide input on long-range plans, financial projections, and capital procurements
  • Produce reports and financial information, particularly cost analysis
  • Develop and guide staff on job tracking and financial reports (WIP, budgets, job profitability, etc.)
  • Direct and plan preparation of reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position (income, expenses, earnings)
  • Develop or update internal financial policies and procedures to ensure solvency

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar accounting/finance role, leadership experience preferred, not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management, preferred.
  • Experience in or strong understanding of mission driven organizations
  • Experience with Zoho preferred; UKG experience a plus, along with a willingness to learn new software
  • Strong skills in cash flow management, budgeting, cost analysis, AP/AR, financial reporting and forecasting, and WIP/job-profitability tracking
