What is a bachelor's degree?

A bachelor’s degree is an undergraduate degree awarded by a college or university, typically requiring four years of coursework to complete. There is a wide variety of types of bachelor’s degree, ranging from a bachelor’s of nursing science (BSN) degree, helpful for nurses, to a bachelor of arts (BA) degree, which, despite the name, does not focus on fine arts. For that, you may want a bachelor of fine arts (BFA) degree, or if you prefer the sciences, you may pursue a bachelor of science (BS) degree, or even a bachelor of applied science (BAS) degree. Each of these sub-designations indicates a different educational emphasis, and though they may take similar amounts of time to complete, a graduate with a BSN is ready for a very different set of duties and responsibilities than a graduate with a BFA.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a bachelor's degree holder, and why are they important?
