At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Medical Technologist, or Technician to join our team.ย 
The primary responsibility of the Medical Technologist, or Technician is:

  • Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention and/or technical skills in all interactions and/or delivery of patient care.
  • Organizes multitask workload; prioritizes tasks/work; seeks assistance; collects/integrates data from multiple sources; organizes job tasks or delivers care for multiple tasks or patients, per scope of position.ย  Maintains awareness and contributes to department-specific quality initiatives
  • Acknowledges limits of experience and capability; identifies learning needs and seeks resources; utilizes equipment and supplies appropriately; maintains a clean, orderly environment of work; ensures traffic control in โ€œsensitive areasโ€; seeks out and accepts feedback; requests assistance appropriately.
  • Perform a variety of specialized lab tests in all areas of the clinical laboratory: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, including demonstrable knowledge of expected lab values.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

  • Medical technologist (MT) โ€” Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Medical Technician (MLT) โ€“ Associates of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Eligible for Certification as an MT or MLT (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Basic computer knowledge: Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to pass a color deficiency test

Compensation:

Min:$20.74

Max:$53.83
