Position Status: Temporary Part Time Term Ends: October 02, 2026 Location: Southport, Education Services BW Hours: 38.75 FTE: 0.50 Shift: Days Shift Times: 0800-1615 (Tues, Wed, Thurs)  Union: Non Union Professional Rate of Pay: $34.65 - $45.47 PCN: 10EDAS016 
 
 
The Opportunity
 
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Program Director and working collaboratively with the Site managers and other stakeholders, the Education Associate provides leadership in the development and delivery of primarily non-clinical education and instruction based on adult education principles and philosophy. This position applies educational theories and adult learning principles in planning and delivering education. The key responsibility of this position is to meet the non-clinical and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training needs of the staff in the organization.
 
Specific key accountabilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for assessment, planning and implementation of corporate, site and unit based non-clinical staff education programs with some involvement in client, family and independent care provider teaching
- Supports implementation of corporate wide initiatives by providing appropriate staff education and coaching
- Orientation of new staff - Development and management of required non-clinical education and CPR training programs
- Support and ongoing education of staff
- Identification of and response to the learning needs of individuals and the service in areas such as emergency codes, etc.
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of non-clinical education within the organization 
 
Qualifications:
 
Bachelor of Education preferred.
Adult education training certificate or diploma required.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation CPR Instructor credentials and experience an asset. 
 
Experience:
 
Minimum of one (1) year of adult teaching experience required.
Experience as a CPR Instructor preferred.
Experience in health care industry preferred.
Well-developed computer skills required (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated teaching and facilitation skills.
Passion for staff development.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Solution-oriented problem solving.
Proven aptitude to work in an environment requiring ongoing flexibility, attention to detail, well-developed organizational skills and a high level of computer literacy.
