OVERVIEW
Vertex is seeking a full-time, permanent Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our Ontario team. The successful candidate will bring a strong technical background in environmental site assessment, remediation, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance. This role is primarily field-based and involves planning and executing environmental investigations, overseeing drilling and sampling programs, collecting and interpreting environmental data, and supporting remediation across a variety of project types. When not in the field, you will be responsible for data interpretation, analysis, and technical report writing.
Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Intermediate Environmental Scientist will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental services while ensuring compliance with applicable provincial and federal regulations, including Ontario's Excess Soil Regulation and environmental site assessment requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, Indigenous communities, contractors, and internal technical teams to support safe, effective, and practical environmental solutions.
This position is well suited for a motivated environmental professional who enjoys a balance of field and office work, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about environmental stewardship, technical excellence, and mentoring junior staff.
